15 of the Best Easy Quarantine & Summer Cocktails 2020
Over the years one of my favorite hobbies is bartending for family and friends. I love making a creating new cocktails for our events. This boozy post is all of my favorite drinks to make and order at the bar. There aren’t any Vodka recipes because that’s the 1 liquor I refuse to drink!
These recipes are perfect for summer!
Tequila & Rum
Classic Margarita
Ingredients
• 2 oz. silver tequila • 1 oz. Cointreau • 1 oz. lime juice • coarse salt
Directions
Chill a cocktail glass, and then rub its rim with lime juice and dip it in coarse salt. Add tequila, Cointreau, lime juice, and ice together in a cocktail shaker. Shake and then strain into the glass over ice.
Daiquiri
Ingredients
• 2 oz. white rum • 1/2 tsp. superfine sugar • 1/2 oz. lime juice
Directions
Squeeze the lime into your shaker, stir in the sugar, and then add the rum. Shake well with cracked ice, then strain into a chilled cocktail glass.
Classic Mojito
Ingredients
• 2 oz. white rum • .5 oz. lime juice (squeezed fresh) • 1 tsp. superfine sugar • 3 mint leaves club soda or seltzer
Directions
In a smallish Collins glass, muddle lime juice with 1/2 to 1 tsp. superfine sugar. Add the mint leaves, mushing them against the side of the glass. Fill glass 2/3 with cracked ice and pour in the rum. Pitch in the squeezed-out lime shell and top off with club soda or seltzer.
Pear Mojito (are any Fruit )
Ingredients
• 1.5 oz. Mount Gay Black Barrel rum • .75 oz. lime juice • .75 oz. simple syrup • 1 oz. Ambient pear puree • fresh mint leaves • club soda
Directions
In a highball glass, lightly press on mint leaves with muddler. Add rest of the ingredients except club soda. Add ice and transfer into a shaker and shake. Add club soda and pour back in highball glass. Garnish with mint leaves.
Tequila Sunrise
Ingredients
1 1/2 oz. tequila 3 oz. freshly squeezed orange juice 1 tsp. grenadine
Directions
Shake tequila and orange juice well with cracked ice, then strain into a large, chilled cocktail glass. Add grenadine and stir gently, for no longer than is necessary to produce layers of oranges and reds.
Bourbon & Whiskey Cocktails
Mint Julep
Ingredients
• 2 oz. Bourbon • .25 oz simple syrup • 8 mint leaves
Directions
In a Julep cup or rocks glass, lightly muddle the mint and syrup.
Add the bourbon and pack tightly with crushed ice.
Stir until the cup is frosted on the outside.
Top with more crushed ice to form an ice dome and garnish with a mint sprig and few optional drops of bitters.
Bulldog Smash
Ingredients
• 2 oz. Bourbon • 1 tsp Cane Syrup • 6 mint leaves
• 1/2 Lemon
• 1/2 Peach, pitted
• 3⁄4 oz Cointreau
Directions
In a shaker, muddle the lemon, peach, mint and sugar cane syrup.
Add the bourbon and Cointreau, and fill with ice.
Shake, and strain into an Old Fashioned glass filled with crushed ice.
Garnish with a sprig of fresh mint.
Crownberry Apple Cocktail
Ingredients
1 1⁄2 oz Crown Royal Regal Apple whisky
4 oz Cranberry juice
Directions
Add the whisky to a rocks glass over ice.
Top with cranberry juice and stir.
Garnish with an apple wheel.
Kentucky Buck
Ingredients
1 chopped strawberry
3⁄4 oz. lemon juice
1⁄2 oz. simple syrup
2 oz. Wild Turkey bourbon
2 dashes Angostura bitters
2 oz. ginger beer
Strawberry slice, for garnish
Directions
Muddle chopped strawberry, lemon juice, and simple syrup in a cocktail shaker. Add bourbon, 2 dashes bitters, and ice. Shake and strain into an ice-filled highball glass. Top with ginger beer; garnish with a strawberry slice.
Whiskey Sour
Ingredients
2 ounces bourbon
¾ ounce fresh lemon juice
¾ ounce simple syrup
½ orange wheel (for serving)
Maraschino cherry (for serving)
Directions
Combine bourbon, lemon juice, and simple syrup in a cocktail shaker. Fill shaker with ice, cover, and shake vigorously until outside of shaker is very cold, about 20 seconds.
Strain cocktail through a Hawthorne strainer or a slotted spoon into an old-fashioned or rocks glass filled with ice. Garnish with orange wheel and cherry.
Gin Cocktails
50/50 Martini
Ingredients
1 1⁄2 oz Plymouth Gin
1 1⁄2 oz Dry vermouth
1 dash Orange bitters
Directions
Add all the ingredients to a mixing glass and fill with ice.
Stir, and strain into a chilled Martini glass.
Garnish with a lemon twist.
El- Chapo Cocktail
Ingredients
1 1⁄2 oz Gin
1 oz Strawberry-infused Aperol*
Grapefruit Beer
Directions
Add all ingredients to an Old Fashioned glass over fresh ice.
Top with Grapefruit Beer and garnish with 2 speared fresh strawberry slices.
New New York Sour
Ingredients
2 oz American Gin
1⁄4 oz Combier
3⁄4 oz American Fruits Sour Cherry Cordial
1⁄2 oz Lemon juice
Club soda
Directions
Add all the ingredients except the club soda to a shaker and fill with ice.
Shake, and strain into a Collins glass filled with fresh ice.
Top with club soda and garnish with a lemon twist.
Blackberry Gin & Tonic
Ingredients
8 ripe blackberries, plus 2 more for garnish
1/2 ounce fresh lime juice
1 ounce simple syrup (see note)
1 1/2 ounces gin
2 to 3 ounces tonic water
Directions
Muddle the blackberries and lime juice in the bottom of a cocktail shaker. Fill with ice and add simple syrup and gin. Shake vigorously for about 10 seconds.
Fill a Collins glass with ice. Double-strain into serving glass using a cocktail strainer and mini fine-mesh strainer to prevent the blackberry seeds from going into the glass. Add tonic water and stir gently. Garnish with a few blackberries on a skewer.
Gin Lemonade
Ingredients
2 lemons, thinly sliced
2 tablespoons sugar
3/4 cup gin
3/4 cup St-Germain (elderflower liqueur)
1/3 cup fresh lemon juice
1 12-ounce can club soda
Directions
Muddle lemon slices, and sugar in a large pitcher. Add gin, St-Germain, lemon juice, and club soda. Add ice and stir to combine. Serve over ice.
